A short boat ride from Phuket, located in Phangnga Bay between Phuket and Krabi, is Koh Yao Noi - "a glowing example of homestay and community-based tourism", writes the Bangkok Post. Read more. And "The Gurtadian" described it as one of the last of Thailands unspoilt islands. It is inhabited by Thai Muslims, who are living from rubber tree farming and fishing, and has beaches on the east coast, while the west coast is dominated by mangroves. You can rent bikes and do boaat trips to Phang Nga Bay or islands like Koh Pakoh, Koh Phak Bia und Koh Hong. Ko Yao Noi is also known by birdwatchers. There are expeditions to watch the hornbill.
