Khao Mai Kaew Cave: A litte bit South from Klong Toab you follow the street towards the centre of the island and Old Town on the East side. After one kilometer you turn to the right. Then follow a path of 1,5 kilometers and arrive at the end of this way, near the entrance of Khao Mai Kaew Caves in the centre of Koh Lanta Yai. There is as system of caves with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, some large like a church, some verry narrow, and also pools to swim in. A muslim family offers a guide service to the caves, for 200 Bath per person. You have to walk up the mountain and through the forest for around half an hour to reach the entrance of the caves. You should wear good shoes and take a flashlight with you. Inside you will meet big spiders and bats, as Joe Tuck notes in his blog. And you creep through tunnels. See pictures of the path and the caves by paul_n_miller.
